Mel, my hunch is that it's not an amp but rather some sort of echo/reverb type of equipment :?
Date of pic? ...probably during the time of introduction of Semie's new 'Ramones' guitar design.

Looks sort of "amp-y" to me. Sort of begs the question of whether or not the Ventures used outboard effects (reverb, echo, fuzz) at their live shows. The Live in Japan '65 is guitar directly into amp, and the pictures I've seen of other live performances from the 60s seem to be direct to amp as well.

As for the date, I figured it was close to the introduction of the model :) I was more curious if it was a particular tour.
Oy vey - it's MESHUGGA BEACH PARTY - The world's premier Jewish Surf Music Band!

Mel, the only amp that I can think of that had a blue face panel (unless a stage light disguised it), would be possibly a Supro or National Amp....???
However, that doesn't make any sense either since they used Fender amps 99% of the time.....and no, I don't think it was a Guyatone either  .
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

What about this picture guys...although blurred, we can still make out that all three guitars are plugged in directly into three individual amp HEADS.
...most probably of a Japanese brand, however unknown to me. Could this possibly tie up with the introduction period of Semie's new model?
Don Wilson, at any rate seems to show the same age as in the pic of him holding the Ramones model :?

That would be my guess...the top left corner of the big amp-cabinet in the middle could possibly be sporting a "G" (very faint in the pic though).

Paul and Mel, that would make sense since they had voltage problems with the Fender amps when they performed in Japan..........
and Paul, you are correct in regards of the pic being a little out of focus, however it sure seems to resemble the correct 'G' badge... ;) .

it's always nice to know I helped sparked a conversation on here :D

a lot more of these guitars were accounted for then I could imagine, purtee cool.

this is a wee bit off topic, but did anyone ever find out if that green ventures II that was made in 95 was american made, or a japanese prototype? it had the made in usa tags like a lot of the last semie made mosrites carried. just curious.
Cheers,
