Wow. There it is. The guitar that inspired me into playing music for myself.
I can't believe how clean that looks! Awesome.

Johnny did not know the serial number to the white guitar, it was worn off long ago. I used to know the serial number of the gold guitar, but forgot. I saw the white guitar up close and it had been refretted at least once, they were jumbo size, and the fretbaord was almost scalloped it was so worn. Can't believe that guitar lasted as long as it did.

Re: Ladies and Gentle men of the Mosrite forum...
from what i remembered Johnny's #1 white model had the serial number removed, which made you think the guitar was stolen at one point. But I have also read not ever mosrite went out the factory with a serial number. whatever the case may be it would be cool to know what that number was if it had one....
my japanese one never had a serial number either. I've played around with the idea to add one to it myself. maybe B019,

I read in one interview that it was "filed off", which could mean it was filed when the frets were dressed, or the fact that Johnny strummed the neck a lot. As for the white guitar haven been stolen goods before he got it, well it's possible. I don't think these guitars were ever bait for thieves until Johnny got one and made it famous, but we'll probably never know.

are you sure its not an original trem? it's entirely possible for a customer to have wanted an upgraded unit from the factory. still, its a cool guitar.

This true, I could be wrong. But the primitive trem is one of the trademarks of these guitars and also very recognizable.
