The neck is one-piece and the headstock is 3-piece. I don't recall seeing many like that. Perhaps the headstock was intended to be painted and they changed their mind. One of those questions that will never be answered.

what a great bass! I saw it once on another forum I think. It was the inspiration for the mosrite copy bass Oigun from this board has build for me.

I've posted some pics of the bass on talkbass. I saw that you had used one of the pics for the color in the build thread. It's a hard color to photograph. It's a little lighter in sunlight and deep blue in artificial light. Good to know that my bass helped to make a really nice replica. The body on my bass is pretty thin. It has a flat back - if there were a cutaway it probably would have gone through the top!

Congrats on owning a finely crafted bass. Oigun really went to great lengths to get the details right. You probably have one of the only left-handed basses.

I found the picture a while back surfing on the internet and had long stayed on my desktop. On top of alle other thing on my GAS list. But I couldn't find a lefty mosrite copy. When I saw Oigun building the mosrite guitar copy my mind just blew away.

I didn't know who bass it was. So thank for letting me use it as a big inspiration for me and let me drool over it. LOL.

I think my bass is lighter in color then yours. But what a great bass you have.

Rick .... was just admiring the pics of your 65. My friend Matt has the same year, same color but double pick ups. Mine is a 66/67 sunburst. It looks near identical to yours right down to how the guard is cut! Besides the body color the only real difference I see is that the head of mine is black (probably to match the sunburst body). We've both owned our basses from brand new and as weird as it may seem, we're also from Massachusetts ...

Where do you live in Mass? I grew up in Pittsfield and bought my bass (my parents found a dealer somehow) in Springfield. I live outside of Boston these days.
