Just in case you've never looked inside a Celebrity, now is your chance! These were taken with my iPhone and a flashlight.
This is where the neck comes into the body. You can see the F hole in the upper right corner with a screw from the pickguard.

This is another of the neck pocket and you can see the pickup.

This is the front of the bridge support block, right under the bridge pickup. I don't know what the goop is on the floor. Wax maybe?

This is the back side of the bridge support block. It's interesting that they took the time to drill a hole and run a wire from the control panel through the block.

This is another angle showing the entire bridge block from behind.

The Tremelo mounting screws. Kinda like stalatites! Or a haunted dance floor!

The rear block where the rear strap pin is mounted.

Thanks, Sarah. Absolutely fascinating once I got oriented.
One of my marketing buddies at CF Martin sent me a custom Martin body sewn in half right through the sides, so it was the whole front of the guitar and half of the sides. It had the bridge, saddle, pickguard and all, and the herringbone and abalone front was finished.
Evidently they saw up the guitars that get damaged during manufacturing.
But it is cool to be able to see "under the skin," as it were.

Thanks for sharing - I had wondered about the construction of the Celebrity, and now I know!

Very cool photos! I would never have thought of that, I'm used to using mirrors.
Yes it is very interesting that they would take the time to drill a hole in the brace and then fish the wire through it. Great way to keep the wire from rattling around inside the body.
Nice job Sarah!

Thanks a lot, Sarah! I'm surprised though, There aren't many braces in there. That must have been all they needed.

I agree. I think the science behind bracing, especially in hollow body electrics, and their net effect on tone is a very interesting study. I know we've had many discussions on the Gretsch forum regarding the bracing that's been used over the past 75 years by Gretsch. From sound posts to bridge blocks to tressle bracing to X bracing and so on. Since I'm not a luthier and I do not understand the subtle effects on sound generation having the variety of bracing options inside the sound box. It is pretty neat to be able to take a clear peek inside. It sort of reminds me of the film footage I saw when they sent cameras inside the Titanic.

A little eerie, but cool at the same time.
