How tall are speed frets, anyway? Ten thousandths? Twenty thousandths?

I spanned the frets with a straightedge and got out my feeler gauge. Most of the frets measured .020" to .022" tall.

Thanks, Handbrake! I had been wondering for a while just how high speed frets are supposed to be, Now I'll be able to make "Speed frets" of my own once I get the right tools. ;)

I like how they look too. I can't say a Mark V will be my first Mo' but I did want one at first... Ricky played lots of 'em... ;)

(P.S. How do they compare to Mark Is as far as the neck pickup goes?)

My Celebrity has speed frets and they measure .020" +/- .002" all the way down the neck. I'm actually surprised they are that consistent.
