New arrivals

Postby handbrake » Fri Jun 12, 2009 5:06 pm

I've neglected my real camera and so the batteries are dead. While those charge, I'll have to be satisfied with my trusty iPhone to document these new guitars. The Celebrity has been in my hands for several weeks, but the Mark V and the Joe Maphis just left their boxes. I'll post some better pictures later of these three guitars, as well as some of an oddball Standel fiberglass hollowbody. And pictures of Ed Elliott's hollowbody Gretsch tribute will come early next month after I pick that up from the luthier in Oregon.

Cool pic - great guitars! I really like the extra pickguard on the Combo; it's wacky.
Oy vey - it's MESHUGGA BEACH PARTY - The world's premier Jewish Surf Music Band!

Thanks for the positive feedback everybody.

The Standel is a piggyback with cabinet (as you can see) featuring transistor preamps plus power tubes for two channels, bass and normal. I got the bug to have a few extra amps around (more portable you could say) and here's the result. In the foreground, two Swarts, a 1960s Gibson Skylark and a 1950s Rickenbacker M-8E "Electro".

Not pictured is the Fender Tremolux. No room in the corner. It almost looks like I was preparing for a music event.

Thanks. The unused f-hole decals are in the case.
