Nice find and addition!
Notice the substantially larger marker dots on the fingerboard and the 'alternative' mounting of the bridge cover (incorrect really). Could this be a Semie made/supervised model or copy perhaps, I wonder... :|

And Humbuckers, I might add.

At the risk of hijacking this thread, I'll upload a final picture of a Combo with Humbuckers. Let's see if I can find that...

You're right, the word "copy" could be confusing in some instances, since the word can be used to describe different things, e.g. at the office we received "copies" of various newspapers on a daily basis, meaning the real papers and not fakes.

A Mosrite copy: meaning a clone like the Japanese Fillmore, Kurokumo, Excellent and so on -quality instruments that they be but "copies" nonetheless). A "fake" Mosrite of course is something else; trying to pass as the real thing...

Nope, that V-II bass is the genuine article. Welcome to the Seventies, Veenture.

Wow that's a wacky, yet very cool, guitar! With a pickguard that big it would have extra knobs and a couple of those push on/off switches!
Oy vey - it's MESHUGGA BEACH PARTY - The world's premier Jewish Surf Music Band!

What? Couldn't tell the logo is a link? So click here, what's the hold up? http://www.meshuggabeachparty.com

(With a pickguard that big, methinks someone went a little overboard on the routing...)

Since Veenture's thoughtful thread became mildly hijacked, I thought I'd attempt to revive it. Within the past few months no less than TWO bound sidejack basses turned up for sale in Japan. The pics are definitely worth adding to the site's reference materials.
