Looking groovy! Definitely one of the most unique finishes I've ever seen on a Mo'.

Re: New guy. Recognize this cool '65?
Thanks guys.
I received my spring and the whammy bar from Hallmark Guitars so I'm going to get it set up and (hopefully) I'll be three chord fuzzing out in the garage next Wed.
I also went ahead an ordered a copy of the Super Psychedelics LP. I'm not a huge Ventures fan but what the hey....I need to exercise the turntable anyway.
I'll report back after I get the set up. I'm praying that it doesn't need a re-fret. Man, this guitar has some SMALL (and low) frets. I also won't know if the tuners will hold or not. I know they had some slop but I couldn't tell for sure with those rusty old flat wounds on it.
More later.

Don't let the small, flat frets sweat ya ... that's typical Mosrite - unless they're grooved, and totally gone. I don't know how Semie managed to get that combination of flat frets, small neck, and flat radius working, but it's some kind of alchemy ...

Set up and ready to go.
Two trips to the tech, a new whammy bar from Hallmark and she's ready to go. The frets are low but it plays fine. I'm especially pleased with the pick ups.
Any thought on what I should do about fixing the handle on the case?
Thanks for all of the help!

I'd leave the old original handle hardware alone and buy one of these leather buckle type. They're easy to install and doesn't effect the originality of the case.

Maybe you should refinish it in black tolex.
You never showed the back of the guitar. What's the back finish like?

Wonderful 'period' piece, Dave. How thoughtful of you to display "Super Psychedelics" with her

Thanks for the tip on the handle. That will fill the bill perfectly.
The back of the guitar is finished on black
Thanks again!
