Mel, the numbers I heard were between 15 and 25, but who REALLY knows how many? However most of these particular guitars were made specifically for Bob Crooks of the Standel Amplifier Company in California. The story I remember were these specific guitars originally were NOT fitted with the tremelo system. When the deal with Bob Crooks fell through, because of some investors changing their minds, Semie had discovered that the neck pocket was not correctly cut for the TREM System, so he had to make adjustments to save those guitars. (GOD, I wish I could trip over one of those in a Pawn Shop!!
