I am looking at these pictures trying to figure it out. It really looks like a telecaster body that's been modified... but then, doesn't it also look too wide? It clearly started off as a tele, but was some wood grafted to the body, in addition to the new neck? The main pickup is clearly the original Fender, as are the various hardware parts, the knobs and selector parts. What about the 2nd neck pickup, the Carvin AP-6? The Carvin tele-style guitars came out in '56, but I don't know when the steel guitars got the AP-1 pickups with fully adjustable pole pieces. The earlier Kiesel steels had similar pickups, that were not quite the same as this.

What a cool thing, whatever it is!

Interesting guitar. I've seen '60s and '70s versions of these type of double necks where the bodies have been cut and spliced together. Mostly not as well done as this one.

Are we sure that it was done by Semie? Without seeing more detailed photos it's hard to tell what the real story is.

Anyone in the know have a comment, Andy, Dana ? It appears maybe a Fender prototype.
Or modified Fender Tele. A very simple modification at that. I think I have an old Tele style body laying around here somewhere.
