Mosrite Celebrity Mongrel ???

I just bought a 6 string Mosrite Celebrity. The serial number stamped on the fretboard is 2C0006. Going by a list I found on the internet (Tym's Guitars), this corresponds to a Celebrity II made between 1972 and 74. The label inside the body has a serial number of P-0054, which corresponds to a Celebrity XII. Did Semie ever combine pieces with different serial numbers like this, or is my guitar more likely a 12 string that developed a warped neck and had the neck replaced with a 6 string neck at some point after it left the factory? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
