Hi from Norway,
I'm very glad to join the forum! I am a huge Takeshi Terauchi fan which lead me to getting into Mosrite guitars. I own two, my first is a Mosrite Ranger 1965 Mark I produced in Japan in the late 90's or early 2000's with an added roller bridge. Its a quite nice guitar in fact.

The second is more of a mystery. I won it on a Japanese auction site after a bidding war of 168 bids! And this guitar is why am I excited to be here on the forum.

Although it was purchased from Japan, it is a 1965 Ventures model serial 2004 made in USA - estimated July-September 1965. Sunburst neck and body refinished in black. The trem arm has been modified similar to Takeshi Terauchi's and has extensive signs of heavy use, I believe its been played a lot. I posted on a couple facebook groups and emailed a few shops and specialists such as Max Katzenberger and hand10 and Tim at Tym guitars and everyone seems to confirm its authentic.

I was a bit sad to see the neck was without a stamp and a new date has been added, most likely during the refinish.

I'm really curious for any input!

Welcome to the forum. Sadly, I don't think I personally have much to say about your Ventures model that hasn't already been said (much of my study has been of other models) but I can ask this: what's the width of the fret board at the Zero Fret? My 1966 model (which is an early version of the Ventures Mark V) is roughly 1.560 inches at the zero fret, though I've heard the 1.550" figure said of a Ventures model.
