Hello,
I am in the UK and pretty new to the Mosrite communit but I have read up extensively on the internet about the history and it is confusing but fascinating.
I am interested in a Joe Maphis Model on eBay and I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction for things to look out for please? The seller says it is a genuine US 60s model, the tremelo has the name Mosrite California in the middle and at the lower end is Moseley. The serial number stamped in the fret space is 0274. The headstock says Joe Maphis model 1, and Mosrite of California. Comes with original case apparently.
Any assistance would be great.
Thank you
Andy

Re: Joe Maphis Model I advice please.
If it's this one it looks pretty good, but I'd want some better (non-blurry) pics. Everything looks original except maybe the switch tip, but perhaps it's had the chrome plating worn off. Possibly a replacement handle on the case. The price isn't terrible if it's in good shape. The serial number is most likely actually D274, which corresponds to the Joe Maphis model.
