Still don't own a Mosrite, but want to

My home in Illinois was recently burglarized and I lost 3 guitars. The sum value is something close to $2000. When the insurance sorts out my claim, I hope to come into a lump sum which may afford me a Mosrite. Anyone suggest a good rout to go with used Mosrites? Maybe a hollowbody might fetch lower prices than vintage Mark series guitars. I'm all ears at this early stage of the game. But I really love that Mosrite growl and a Fender-type guitar just won't suffice at this point.

Hello Vance and welcome!

If you want that "Honk" signature sound, you will need to get a Mark 1. The other models sound different than that.

Another option would be a Hallmark 60 Custom. You can score one of these brand new with the case for $999.00 alligator case included and come in 11 different custom colors. This will give you the look, signature sound, playability and performance you are desiring. See here is you have never seen them before. You can also look in our folder in the Forum section here for alot of feedback.

Best of luck with your search and feel free to contact me if I can be of any assistance to you.

Thanks, Bob. DOn't think a Mark V will nail that signature 'honk'? I played a 1972 V2 the other day at Caveman in LA's Chinatown and dug it. A bit beyond my price range unless I can sell this Gibson amp here before next Tuesday, but I dug it.
I see used Hallmarks at good prices and keeping my eyes out for a sweet deal in IL.
