Howdy...

My name is Joe and I've been playing guitar for over 40 years and finally got around to purchasing a Mosrite. Over the years, I've been primarily a Fender guy and have played just about every style of music imaginable. Currently I'm playing guitar in a surf/rock group called Banzai Surf

Over the past 15 years, my main focus has been on surf/rock/instro stuff. About two months ago I saw a couple groups playing a surf show and a couple of the guys were playing Mosrites. I was blow away by the look and the vibe. The next month, I was playing a gig in Portland, and the lead guitar player in the other band was also playing a Mosrite. The seed was planted!

Last month I made the plunge and bought a Reissue Mark I from Ed Roman in Las Vegas. I've had to deal with a "ground issue", but the guitar is amazingly well built and solid. I've gone against conventional Mosrite wisdom and restrung it with heavier strings, 12-54 and it still plays amazingly fast and holds up to the heavy duty staccato type playing ala Dick Dale. The fat strings sound fabulous for jazz chords on the rhythm pickup.

This is a GREAT guitar!

Welcome Joe. That Mosrite is sweet! That's the ink blue color isn't it?

Sorry for the late reply... We don't have a cd yet for this band, but we're in the process of getting one put together. I hope I can get the dang thing done this month, but holidays and work keep getting in the way. Hopefully by the end of January, but I'll be sure to give everyone a shout when it's done.

I've only had the Mosrite for about a month now and I'm just getting used to it. It not only makes a great lead ax, it also is a fantastic rhythm guitar, because it chords so easy, especially up high. I can play chords that are almost impossible to play on my other guitars. I'm still doing some fine tuning with the setup, which I'll post as soon as I'm through, but I love this guitar!

Banzai Baby! :ugeek:

I broke a string the other day and picked up my strat for the first time in months and BOY what difference! It's amazing how something that felt so natural for so long now feels like a baseball bat with monster unfinished frets!
