Howdy...
My name is Joe and I've been playing guitar for over 40 years and finally got around to purchasing a Mosrite. Over the years, I've been primarily a Fender guy and have played just about every style of music imaginable. Currently I'm playing guitar in a surf/rock group called Banzai Surf
Over the past 15 years, my main focus has been on surf/rock/instro stuff. About two months ago I saw a couple groups playing a surf show and a couple of the guys were playing Mosrites. I was blow away by the look and the vibe. The next month, I was playing a gig in Portland, and the lead guitar player in the other band was also playing a Mosrite. The seed was planted!
Last month I made the plunge and bought a Reissue Mark I from Ed Roman in Las Vegas. I've had to deal with a "ground issue", but the guitar is amazingly well built and solid. I've gone against conventional Mosrite wisdom and restrung it with heavier strings, 12-54 and it still plays amazingly fast and holds up to the heavy duty staccato type playing ala Dick Dale. The fat strings sound fabulous for jazz chords on the rhythm pickup.
This is a GREAT guitar!
