Greetings everyone! My name is Ken and I'm from Battle Creek, Michigan. While I am a new member, as a Mosrite owner I have visited this site many times in the past. It is nice to see so many people passionate about these wonderful instruments. My first introduction to Mosrite guitars was in 1966. I was taking guitar lessons and my teacher owned a blue 65 Ventures Model. I was trying to learn on a cheap Decca guitar and I always looked forward to lessons so I could play the Mosrite. I always hoped I would own one but they were way beyond what I could afford. In 1973 I was offered a chance to own a 65/66 (3169) red Mosrite Ventures Model in excellent condition. I couldn't afford the price but the gentleman that owned it allowed me to make payments and soon I owned the guitar I had always dreamed of having. I still own it and its still beautiful. In the 40 years I've owned it the guitar has spent most of its life in the case or hanging on the wall (its beautiful). Marriage, kids, computers and life in general got in the way of jamming with my friends. Retired now and got more time.
So, that's my story, thanks for listening.

Ken

Welcome Ken.... our stories are very similar.I couldnt wait to get home every day from high school( in 1967) to stop at our local music store and play their Mosrites.Blue, red sunburst..finally in 1974 came home from the service and saw a sunburst Mark1 (# 3850) on the wall in that same store.Gave 150.00 for it and have kept it all these years.Am also looking to retire very soon and spend more time with her.
send some pics!!
