Long time lurker...

Postby power chord hack » Wed Mar 14, 2012 5:22 pm

... finally coming out into the light.

Hey everyone.
Power Chord Hack here (PCH).
Some of you might me from other boards - Guild, Gretsch, ReRanch (especially), et al.
I'm in the way south of the SF Bay area.
My Mosrite affliction originated from listening to them on the infamous Phil Dirt's surf show which ran on KFJC for years. Then I noticed that Fred Smith had one, and saw Nicke Andersson rock the heck outta his. So I set out to get one - but alas, by that time (circa 1999) the dot bombers were throwing their stock option money at them which left me out of the running. I settled for a 1st generation Univox Hi-Flyer which I sold about a year later during a now obvious lapse of lucidity.
I found a Firstman for sale at a local shop, buuuut it sold before I could raise the money.
Long story short - I never managed get one. So I made this:

It was originally supposed to have a Mosrite trem. But I neglected to measure twice & cut once.

I still have the trem and a few more spun knobs and switch tips plus some pickup parts - so I guess I'll have to do another.
I'm thinking R/W/B with a mint guard...
8-)

Mate that's a stunning guitar. It would be even more so with the Moseley trem but stilll it's a killer.
I'd love that in my collection.

That is one nice guitar! Life's like that, when the motivation is there, usually the parts aren't. It's also gratifying to hear that other folks have mental blocks on the measuring thing... Welcome to the forum!

Welcome!!

Fred "Sonic" Smith and Nicke Andersson are my two of my main Mosrite heroes aswell! :)

Very sweet guitar! Like a crestwood/mosrite lovechild. Perhaps this was the inspiration? http://www.tymguitars.com.au/?p=3947
