Hi there,
Being a Mosrite admirer but not an owner, I have been reading with interest the posts for years without joining up.
Then I came across a thread entitled "Murph Guitars" from late 2010 and a picture of myself with Deke & Pat Murphy that Terry McArthur posted - yes, I'm the Dan that started the website on these guitars - the MURPH!
Actually it was Deke Dickerson who got me started back in 2004 at one of his gigs here in Sydney - Greazefest I think?
Having a mutual friend ( Tim of TYM guitars ) after the gig he told me about the Murph ( and how they were an unsung SoCal company in San Fernando just south of Bakersfield ) and like a dog with a scent of a bone, I was off on a trail of discovery that took me to LA in 2005 and the fact finding mission that culminated in the website.
Pat Murphy passed in late 2009 and I basically have archived the site as a tribute to him - but please ask if you need any info on the humble Murph.
Cheers!
Hello from another Aussie - Dan the Murph guitar guy.

Welcome to forum!
Unfortunately photo's cannot be uploaded to the forum as it would take up too much server space. Photo's have to be hosted by a site such as Photobucket, which is free. You simply upload your photo's that you want to share and copy and paste the URL here.

Re: Hello from another Aussie - Dan the Murph guitar guy.
Thanks Danny,
I have been rewinding / repairing pickups for years here in Oz and have done several Mosrites.
I have some interesting photos of the constriction of different models that forum members might like to see. ( as well as detail shots of the early segmented magnets ) and bobbin construction ..... never fear, these were all from broken, unrepairable ones.
I'll have to get sorted with a photo hosting site then?
Cheers, Dan
