Hello from Bakersfield, CA

My name is George, but go by Sir George or my screen nme, Sir Woofsalot. Lotta splainin in the name. I'm a Mosrite owner, have owned many, regret selling any of them, but at least I now own an original Celebrity, (the best by far for rythym), a Joe Maphis completely restored by none other than the great luthier Bill Grugget himself. I am a lover of these finest of instruments and have some of them posted on my site.

Good to see a forum like this.

Respectfully,
George

Welcome to the forum, George. I'd love to see photos of your Celebrity as well as the serial number. I agree the Celebrity is a great rhythm guitar!

I took a picture of it and the Maphis along with my Mosrite 400 Amp to use as a profile picture but, as you can see, I haven't uploaded it yet. I am planning on putting picts up on my site (marmatt.com) in the music section. Only recently have I been uploading lyrics to some of the fun songs I like to do with the group on "Pick Night" along with some Gospel favorites.

I owned a red 12 string Celebrity for almost 20 years, looking constantly for a 6 string to match it, but never did. Then, I got hurt in an accident and had to sell it. About 5 years later, I found the red 6 string I now own, and I'm sick I lost the 12. Hopefully, one of these days I'll run across the buyer and he will sell it back to me. It went to someone in Mich.

I'll upload a couple of closeups as soon as I get the chance.

Which Mosrites do you own?

I'm strictly a Celebrity girl (you might tell from my website) :D I have a couple of choice Celebrities. I have one of the original prototype Celebrities, a couple of 1972's, one is serial number 3c0001. I've really been wanting a Gospel as well as a 12 string. I have high hopes to actually build my own double neck Celebrity some day. I'm looking forward to seeing yours.
