Hello all,
I am new to the Forum today.
Background info:
I am from Rock Island IL
I have been playing guitar for 40 years
I have owned 350+ guitars in that time-span (mostly vintage)
Purchased my first Mosrite last weekend...a '66 XII hardtail 12string s/n T58#
It had been languashing in a garage for 30+ years. Under all the dust, grime and mold was a very nice original sunburst finish with the exception of a 1 inch area on the lower cutaway that had been gnawed on by a rat (gotta love it!). Pickguard was there but off and the wiring was also chewed. I will have the wiring fixed tonight. It came to me via an antique dealer who purchased it at a local yard sale for $5 in a non-original chip case. After looking up Mosrite's, I noticed the 60's cases were alligator with red lining. This sent me to my music room where I have a 60's Tele in a non-original case. Turns out it is an original Mosrite case that fits the XII like a glove...
