New to this forum but not to Mosrites

Postby Bob K » Fri Sep 19, 2008 7:57 pm

Damon has already sort of introduced me. I have been a Ventures fan since forever but never owned a Mosrite until about 1991. Since then I acquired quite a large collection of them - I think more than 50 at one time. I have since sold several but still have 28 I think. Most are Ventures models and some are basses. In my mind the '63 side jack Ventures model is the most striking guitar ever built, which would explain why I own 5 of them.

While in college I played in a typical rock band (lead, rhythm, bass and drums) but used a Fender Jazzmaster. I love Fenders as well and have a fairly large collection of them. I don't play at all now so my guitars sit locked up in my storage room. I'm thinking they will make a nice retirement account (especially given the roller coaster ride the stock market has been giving us!).

At any rate, I may be able to answer some questions for folks here and I may have some pictures to share from time to time.

Hi Bob,

Welcome! Wow....being fairly new to the Mosrite world/bug myself and as someone hoping to find a beautiful vintage Mosrite Mark 1 that I can afford very soon, I must say: you're a lucky man ;-). You must know quite a deal about Mosrites so I am also looking forward to read your posts on this forum.

Welcome, Bob: I hope you are right about cashing in our guitars when we retire. I have a few guitars too. I should have started collecting them sooner. Anyway I am glad you have joined us.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I will try to post some pictures from time to time if I can figure out how to do it. I belong to a number of forums and they all have different picture posting mechanics.
