Hello,
I recently purchased what I believe is a 1971 Mosrite. Looks like a Ventures model without Ventures on headstock. Back in 1982 I had an old neighbor that came over to show me and the band his guitar. We looked at the guitar and kind of blew him off not realizing what he was showing us. Last year I was obsessed with finding out what the neighbor had shown us back then. I drove by his house and found out he still lived there. I spoke with him and before I could mention the guitar, he asked if I was interested in buying a guitar. To my amazement he pulled out the old Mosrite that he had tried to show me around 30 years ago. He sold me the guitar for $300.00 (would not take a penny more and knew it was worth more). We have since become friends and he has passed on a few more great vintage instruments and amps to me. He will be 90 next month and we occasionally jam with acoustic guitars. He has a couple of old Martins.

Re: Hello
You have found quite a benefactor there! As we get older, we begin to realize that we may not be able to stave off the arthritis, and start to think of finding a good home for our collections...your friend obviously thinks he has found a home for his prizes! Congratulations, and welcome to the forum.

Re: Hello
Welcome...
How many times have you wished you could go back and redo that first meeting.
I've learned over the years I always listen when someone tells me something, even if it's about what I know best, because, maybe, just maybe they will know something I don't.
Very fortunate meeting.
Welcome again;
Dan
