I hope that I am following the correct procedure to become a member of this forum:
I am Bruce Mitchell, an endodontist, living in Hot Springs, AR. Years ago, I was a local garage cover band rock star. I was playing a Gretsch double-anniversary two-tone green through an
Epiphone 2-10s. I had always longed for a Mosrite with the "fast neck". Years later, I decided to rediscover my rock star status and purchased a pearl white/tortoiseshell Mosrite that I am trying to identify. I believe it to be a "non-Ventures" Model V1. It POSSIBLY could be a reissue from the Booneville batch from 1988-89. SN H0783 which indicates a Celebrity(??) of which it is definitely not! It has the Moseley vibrato, Kluson tuners, "M" hat-type knobs, 8 screw scratchplate, truss rod cover and a 3 screw bolt on neck (2 piece) without a plate. VERY ODD: I have 3 knobs: 2 volume and 1 tone. I would submit a photo but I am somewhat "technology challenged". If any members can help me classify this sweet baby, I would appreciate it. Hopefully I have correctly registered and this text is not in vain.

Welcome to the forum Bruce. Features sound late 60s / early 70s to me. Lots of unique combinations of features then. Cool!

You're doing just fine Bruce, welcome to the forum ;)

How to post pics: :arrow: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=53

I had to do some serious 'test driving' myself with this but perseverence did the trick.

Hi Bruce,
The serial number database that most of use refer to includes an entry for the Combo model beginning with 'H', but 'H' also exists for a vague entry reading "Factory modified Ventures model guitar". Also, three bolt neck is typical for the later 60s.

Sometimes the pot dating can be useful. If you gently remove your pickguard, you might be able to spy a code imprinted on one or all of the pots indicating date of manufacture. Not conclusive for the guitar, but might narrow the field.

Cheers!

Hi Bruce, I had to google for endodontist... I'm glad you need us (in a way) and we don't need you.
...well, you know what I'm saying.
Let's try that again;
