Hi Everyone - I am a long time reader of this forum and a brand new member. I am in the Sacramento area.
I have been an avid Mosrite fan since early 1960. In high school I worked for EB Films and contacted the Ventures so that we could use Mosrite Guitars in one of the video films we were shooting. They were very gracious and allowed us to use a Ventures Model Bss, Mark ! and Dual neck for the shoot. Unforunately I never saw the completed film, but I do have some still pictures (slides) as a momento. I also met the Ventures in Hollywood in 65, and felt pretty awesome as they were my favorites. I always loved the sound of the Mosrite, it was so different! I am fortunate to own a 1986 re-issue of a 1965 Mosrite Mark1 Ventures Model. It is in perfect condition (no cracks in finish, dings or really ever been played, with original paperwork) and signed on the back of the headstock (under the clear lacquer) by Semie. It says "Handmade by Semie Mosley 1986). It is black with a clear headstock and the back of the neck is black and clear both. The front of the headstock is black also. I am trying to learn to play guitar (not the Mosrite as I have it in a display case. Since 2002 have become very good friends with Nokie and Judy Edwards and have one of his "natural" quilted maple HitchHikers coming. I also have a pratice acoustic that Nokie signed and a 1930 Martin 2-17 Parlor Guitar that I have in a display case.
So that's pretty much my introduction to the forum...Glad to be a member!!!
- Ron
