Hey. I'm Dave. My folks help me buy a '76 Brass Rail in '93 when I was in high school as a birthday present. My dad is a huge Mosrite fan, still has an old Mosrite 4x?" combo. I remember the surfer reverb on the thing as a kid.
Anyway, I've still got my Rail. Funny enough, the guitar is as old as I am, and I'm technically the first owner. She sat in one of several shops for 17 years while all the other guitars left with new owners. My biggest regret is not grabbing the '75 BR with the on-board fuzz that used to sit next to it.

Mainly looking to learn more about this instrument and, more importantly, how much to insure it for.

Hi Dave, interesting little story , welcome. I'm still learning everyday on the Forum here; could you explain about the reverb...on a guitar(!) ?? ...unless you remember your dad playing surf style on it?

I think he means an amplifier, hence the 4x?. However, The reverb unit is very interesting. Dtribby, Did it look like this?

Hi everyone. My name is Lee and I'm a new forum member. I'm 60 year old and have played off and on since my early teens.
I've owned many guitars over the years,(most of them sold and me wishing I still had them). I played a couple of Mosrites when I was young but could not manage to buy one. I've had the Mosrite fever ever since. I bought a cheap Mosrite copy about a year ago and have rebuilt it but it still doesn't play or sound anything like a real Mosrite. I also own a Gretsch 5122 (great guitar for the money), Fender Highway One Stratocaster, Epiphone Les Paul, and an Ibanez Acoustic-Electric. I recently purchased a Hallmark 60 Custom. Wow! These are even better than everyone has been saying. Flawless finish (I bought the sunburst, Beautiful!!!), low and fast action, great sound and without a doubt the nicest guitar I've ever owned. Only one problem---I can't put it down and when I finally do, I can't quit staring at it. Thank you Bob Shade for making these guitars and making them affordable. Thank you forum members for helping make the decision to buy the Hallmark. I, also like many of you have restrung my Hallmark with Diadarrio Chrome XL Flatwounds 10-48's. Love them, They really sound great on my Grtesch also.
