I am a lazy guitarist that enjoys listening to music more than I like to practice. As far as favorite genera, I have a penchant for instrumental surf. I love Dick Dale, Man or Astroman, Terry Tarauchi, El Ray, Daikaiju, and the Ventures among others. The one golden tread that many of these guitarists seem to have is the Mosrite Guitar, or at least a copy of one. Thus, I find myself visiting these forums on a regular basis. The day has come that I build my own copy! I need all the help that I can get being a first timer.
I have read post from Ed Elliott and Mr. Shade as well as many others, trying to gather enough info to make my own Mosrite copy. After a year of gathering my tools and parts, I'm about ready to attempt some guitar building!

Thanks Guys. Hope to be able to drive out to Indianapolis next weekend to pickup some Maple for my neck and decide on a tonewood for the body. Something inexpensive, bright and twangy. Anyone got suggestions? Also, I think its supposed to be what, 2 inches thick? Not 100% on the specs. In fact I'm clueless on where to start on the neck dimensions. I need a neck template. I obtained PDF from tdpri forums for the body but dont know where to start on the neck. Suggestions?
