It is hard to choose a favorite Mosrite. I like too many of them. Ventures model- sunburst is probably up there! I like the celebrity too. Seems like they all had fast necks.Double necks are fun! AND HEAVY! Used to build some Dobros too. SHHH! Don't tell. LOL! For my 16 th birthday I got a red, white and blue Mosrite bass.I might have a pic somewhere - out in storage w the cob webs! It was almost complete! Still needed a little more work! It finally got completed.
One thing I recall about Hiro - is - that he was very, very particular about the details and quality of the Mosrites he recd. If he wasn't happy w it- he would definitely let you know.

Funny you say that about Hiro, busybee. That obsessive attention to detail is uniquely Japanese. I've seen faxes from Mr. Yusa to Loretta from back in 1992 when Fillmore first started ordering '63 reissues complaining about the type of screws being used.

Looking forward to that patriotic bass of yours!

nice pics! my guess is the mosrite in the top pic is older- different knobs. The knobs on the sunburst remind me more of what I used to work with. Very nice guitars!!
