Newbie Mosrite Fan

Postby drewfretless » Sat Apr 18, 2009 10:49 am

I recently picked up a Univox Hi-Flyer and fell in love with it. I went on a mission to find a Mosrite because although I really like the Univox, and love to play it, I needed the real deal. I got my hands on a 66 Mosrite today (Thanks Tony) and new I had to have one. I will probably keep the Univox (I routed the body just enough to drop in two pickups from a Eastwood Hi-Flyer, which worked really well) and I already sold my Fender Jazz bass to help fund a Mosrite. So my quest for the Mosrite begins, looking forward to being a member of the forum.

Too bad you had to sell your Fender J. bass but then a fine replacement has come along to take away the pain! I'm a guitar player myself but we had another of the 'scarce breed' join the forum just recently and he's happy as can be with his new Ranger Mosrite Bass.
Good to see the low-end Mosrite section getting a better (stronger) representation here now from you guys! ;)

Welcome to the forum Drew.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I am looking forward to the knowledge I will gain by being a member in this forum. I will be sure to post when I make the Mosrite purchase. I am looking at a 66 & 71-72. I may make a decision next week. :D

Thanks again!

I'm with you on that, I'm gearing up to sell a bunch of tools, guitar parts and maybe even a guitar or two to fund one of the Mosrite Rangers that Artie is selling at his shop. I can live with a $1500.00 price tag for a great quality guitar and it would have to be the last guitar I buy for a while unless I build another one. Kevin
