Dating Custom 60

Postby buddyboy » Thu Mar 15, 2018 11:03 am

Hi. I'm brand-new to the forum and just picked up my first Hallmark - a Custom 60! It's a great guitar. I bought the guitar used and I have no idea in what year it was made. Can any of you clue me in on dating these guitars?

Thanks.

I would contact Bob Shade directly. He will be able to tell you. He's very active on email and on this forum, along with the Mosrite facebook pages.

If it has a black headstock it is from the first year of production. I have one from the first year but I can't remember what year it was.

It does have a black headstock, at least the face of it is black. It has a pearl white finish as well.

A pic and serial number if you feel comfortable would help. Best, Bob

Is that early? I'm not really familiar with your brand. I'll say though that the guitar freakin' rocks! I'm going to be using it for the instro numbers my band plays. The bridge p/u really growls, with a fat twang like the Ventures! I jack it up through a 1964 Super Reverb and it slays. Much more push than my Telecasters!

Yes that's an early 60C. Good for you!
