Custom 60 owners.. a little help please

Postby cmiller0034 » Sat Jan 04, 2014 6:11 pm

Excuse me good Hallmark owners. I am building a Mosrite clone. I will probably save my pennies and purchase a Hallmark when Mr. Shade produces a Starcrunch Model. But for now, my little project will have to suffice. Plus it has been a great learning experience. :lol: I would like to get the hallmark neck feel on the neck rather than the original Mosrite shape. I hear it is really comfy.

Can anyone help provide a measurement of the Custom 60 neck thickness? Heard they are thinner but a little wider than Mark 1. I already know the width. So I just need the thickness from Fretboard to bottom of the neck at a few locations.

Maybe at the Zero, 1st, and 12th frets. or more detailed info If you would like.

It would help me a great deal on my build.

Post here or PM me please
Thankyou very much

It looks like 3/4's of an inch.

Sorry I jumped the gun, that as the width. I'd say about 1.25 inches on most frets.

Measuring with vernier dial calipers....

@ zero-fret - .900" (ramping up to the volute)
@1st fret - .800"
@5th fret - .850"
@9th fret - .890"
@12th fret - .920"
@15th fret - .970"

Then the heel starts.

I'd say my 60C has a sort of flattened-C feel to it. Similar to my 60s neck Les Paul, but a little flatter. Faster.
