Ok I've had a few days with this guitar. 1st the most important the neck 1 5/8" at the nut 2 1/8" at the 22 fret the depth is 3/4"at 1st fret and 13/16" at the 14th fret. The neck need no time at all to get used ( + it's a set neck that I for 1 prefer)the frets are thin and close to a banjo frets .078" wide &.041"at the crown. The frets are higher than on the LP Custom /SG Custom and Firebird VII. The neck is not as thin as the Original Mosrite (1 1/2" x 1/2" )and fit nicely in with both modern and vintage guitars I own. Finish is White pearl looks great. I haven't looked under the pickgaurd at the pots or switch yet. It play and sound great and the only thing I might change are the tuners. If anyone has any questions I'ld be more than happy to answer them. John

Some people just prefer other tuners, I know I like Steinbergers because they are easy to use and are also the most accurate tuners around. They are also $100 for a set but they're worth it!

What I'm wanting to know is what is wrong with the tuners as the come on a Hallmark Custom 60? Are they slipping, have slack in the post, causing the strings to go out of tune?

The only thing is I like tuners with a better ratio then the Kluson have. I'ld get Grover Imperial if I was to change them but they hold tune well but maybe in the future.The pickups, I Haven't had the chance to play out with this guitars and at home I run a PR very low and clean. They seen to have a round full sound with a nice presence to them but not that hard mid honk of some P90 type pickups.

John, Is that a pro or con for you about the pickups? (Just wondering)

101volts, It's a pro the pickups are well balance the neck isn't woooly and the bridge isn't peirceing but has more treble. They are full range pickups with a resonant peak IMHO about 3K and I'm sure with some tweaking at a amp you could get whatever you want out of them.They don't sound like any other pickups on any other guitar that I own which is a huge PLUS.

I have had my Hallmark for only 3 months now and I am still discovering new tones. The pick-ups offer a stronger low-mid range than my other P-90 loaded guitars, and a lot more "meat" than my Fenders. Personally, I have always felt that Gibson's best contribution to the electric guitarist was the P-90. Now I have to wonder if Semie realized that fact and carried it one step closer to perfect. The guitar does have a minor flaw. That being the trouble I have putting it back in the case at night.

My other 30+ ( probably 40 by now) guitars have been really neglected since I've gotten mine. I'm playing next week and I'm looking forward to trying it with my live setup. John

They don't sound like P90's to my ear either. Although players not familiar with Mosrites or Hallmark always call them P90's when they see them. The bridge assembly plays an important part in the tone also.
