Patience is an extra hard virtue to maintain with such cool gear on the horizon!

It's a stop tailpiece. I'm assuming that they are replicating Johnny Ramones' first blue Mosrite in which he took the tremolo arm and tail piece off and replaced with a stop tailpiece and left the base plate.

Hmm, I never knew he did that. Thanks for clearing it up, I saw a video of him playing it and I was wondering if he still had the trem on it because I saw the base plate! Anyway, Is the base plate removable? I thought of adding a Stetsbar tremolo (The Gibson Les Paul one) To a Hallmark II because I like having the trem/vibrato.

Here's a link to the particular model I'd like to put on a Hallmark II and a Youtube demonstration video.

This topic is drifting away from it original intent. Please start a new topic to discuss 'what if's'.

Beautiful, just beautiful!! The only Hallmark guitar I've ever had in my hands was the Deke model, and I liked it a lot. How would the neck on these compare? Much flatter and thinner?
Also, is that bridge compensated for wound, or plain G-strings?
Thanks,
Walter

Can't answer the neck question but the bridge is for a wound 3rd. Anytime the G string sets ahead of the B string it is compensated for a wound G. Very few compensated bridge's are made for a plain 3rd. Go figure!!!

Walter, I believe the neck on the '59 is comparable to the 60 Custom, which is not far from a slim Gibson feel. Nut width is wider than Mosrite, so the fret board has a more "familiar" feel if you are accustomed to Fender. Maybe this is helpful? I don't have a DD Model to compare to.

I had a chance to check out a Deke and a 60 Custom back to back at a friend's house. The necks felt similar.

Bob should offer a substitute saddle/bridge intonated for a plain G. :D
