Nope, no relation but that's where I got it from. My last name is Tucciarone and I am often referred to as Tooch so it's a bit of a play off of the El Duce thing.

Holy smokes! I didn't expect you to know who the Mentors were let alone El Duce. That's so crazy. They were certainly 1 of a kind band. I hear they still play out live, even tho their singer is dead.

I guess I'm a bit of a young 'un on here at 38 but yeah, I know The Mentors, and GG, the East Coast original. I am somewhat ashamed to admit that I only own one Mentors record though. GG's band still plays around here all the time and his brother Merle is out and about still too.

Hello, yes we did this up for El Tuce in our custom paint shop! We can do the same for everyone on any guitar of ours for only $200.00 upcharge.

Bob, just wondering, what do you use when painting your hallmarks? nitro, poly, urethane?
Cheers,
Aaron

:D Well, I did it--pulled the pin on a Hallmark 60 Custom. After pulling my hair out trying to decide on a color, I went with good old 3-tone sunburst. Surf Pearl is different, and looks cool in the NAMM Show pics--I've loved White Pearl with the tortoise guard ever since I bought the Ventures On Stage album back in the '60's, and I sure like the Sunset Sparkleburst too--but every time someone posts a pic of that 3-tone burst, I just drool. That's the classic look on these guitars anyway, in my opinion. I'll post some pics when I get it. It'll be a couple of weeks--apparently they're out of cases right now, but Bob S. told me he'd have more in two weeks or so, and I'm not letting him ship it without a case!

Congratulations Hallmark-bro! Hang in there Jon while it's waiting impatiently to be shipped out to you. You made a wise choice; that iconic Sunburst needs to come first...the rest can always follow...

Enjoy!

Just had to throw this in:
Over the weekend did some big time surf jamming with the 60 Custom. It was small amp day, playing a path that went 60 Custom>Fender Reverb Tank>EH Deluxe Memoryman> Fender VibroChamp (silverface). The 60 Custom kicked some serious butt in the tone department, and I'm picky about such matters. Slow spacey dreamscapes to high energy Dick Dale tremolo picked harmonic minor melodies and double stop mayhem. It reigned supreme.

Just thought you folks might like to know.
See ya around.
