They need a better marketing strategy for their guitars. Most folks have never heard of Hallmark. Of course, I guess they're not every body's cup of tea. Mosrite fans seem to be a rare breed.

Well, in this day and age and the way the Economy is going, just about EVERYONE is being very careful
as far as running a Business goes......and there is nothing wrong with that other than a 'smart' decision

Unfortunately Hallmark is not a big corporation like Fender and Gibson (2 man operation I think) and don't have unlimited resources. The do have a great looking website and produce a quality product. Much of their business is by word of mouth and the internet. I'd say they are right on par with the way Semie sold Mosrites. ;)

Yeah...but, Semie did a terrible job of selling Mosrites. ;)

ETA: Also, the "production" guitars are made off shore in mass production facility. Not in a 2-man shop.

Actually, the Mosrites sold themselves, although poor Semie was not much of a BUSINESSMAN. But I still have my believes of what happened to the Company, and when you look at the facts, it was not Semie who was responsible for the demise of Mosrite......

Regardless of where they are made, it is still a 2 man operation that sells them, boxes them up and ships them out. All the while they are working on custom orders, building, restoring and refinishing guitars, plus attending the various guitar shows displaying, taking orders and selling their goods. Got to admire them for what they do and have accomplished for the Mosrite fraternity. I'm sure if Bob Shade had mega bucks he would hire a marketing team to get the word out and hire a staff of however many it takes, but mean time it's Bob and Johnny.

I wasn't aware it was just Bob and John. That's quite an undertaking for 2 people. I don't see how that's possible. Who packs and ships while they're away at shows, etc? I can't imagine people waiting until they get back to receive their orders.
