Finally had a day off when it was sunny, so here's a couple pics:

I changed the knobs because I need the numbers for a visual reference as I'm a bit of a twiddler. :ugeek:

Slapped a set of 11-52s on my C60 and set it up for double drop D tuning - pretty convincing Neil Young tones through my cranked 6G2 Princeton. :ugeek:

Hiking up the height of the pickups made a world of difference - there's a lot more bite and growl now. Still may go for 300k pots, but it's merely out of curiosity now instead of necessity.

Also - these pickups LOVE a good treble booster. For real.

nice guitar! I've just ordered myself a Sunset Sparkle - can't wait!

You got any more pics? :D

It'll be my first time playing a Hallmark or anything similar to a Moserite. I love guitars and got all kinds of books about them so I was pretty familiar with Moserite, this summer I got caught by some Surf bug and ended up getting a MIJ Fender Jaguar 66 reissue blocks and binding! Been totally in love with that guitar - and the Ventures - for 6 months now. Sold my Greco 3 pickup Les Paul, sold my cij 52ri telecaster, they were not getting played at all. Also since november, I've been listening to the Ventures live in japan 65 on repeat, that is my absolute favorite guitar tone so I emailed Curtis Novak about making me some P90-ish jaguar pickups, but since selling all the other guitars I figured I might as well get a Hallmark - Bob has been very easy to deal with. So I'll keep my Jag more vintage, put some flats and it can be my early ventures guitar while the Hallmark will represent Nokie era Ventures.

I just can't wait to receive it and finally play it!!!

i'm also most probably going to put a tortoiseshell pickguard on the Sunset sparkle, got a sheet with a whole pickguard left over, pics to come soon, as well as some clips, as soon as USPS delivers the goods

Hydra--by "tortoiseshell" are you referring to the red-brown stuff like on sunburst Fender Jaguars and the like? I'm having trouble picturing that on your gorgeous green-gold-sparkle 60 Custom without cringing! Some people call white pearloid "tortoiseshell", and I'm hoping that's what you have in mind--that would look great on your guitar. However--if red-brown tortoiseshell is what you want, don't let me (or anybody else) talk you out of it! It's your guitar--you should have it the way you want. I'm thinking of getting a white pearloid pickguard and blue pearloid pickup covers with white mounting rings (like on the Gospel guitar on the Hallmark website) for my Surf Pearl 60 Custom.

I'm afraid I do mean the reddish pick guard :) like the one on the pearl white. I got a sheet and got one cut for the jag so I got enough left over for another one. I'll get it cut and try it, it's 4ply so it will have a nice black and white line around it, I think it could look cool, if not I'll put the white one back on. Yeah I wouldn't let anyone tell me what to do or not to do with my guitars. They're mine for the long run and while I love then there isn't one that I didn't already do something to, change the bridge, shave a bit of the poky off, diffident puck guard, cream knobs, tuners wth cream buttons, there is always something! :) I love my guitars and looking forward to welcoming the hallmark to the family

I'll see first how much I like this guitar first, but I think a nice ink blue metallic with the red tortoiseshell pickguard and white pickup covers would look totally cool, but he was a out of blue custom 60s and white covers, it looks like I got the last sunset sparkle in this run and just missed out on fire sparkle, which is fine cause I couldn't decide between the sparkles
