Here's a pic taken of me during play at the guitar event I attended last Sunday.

Image
I'm sure it must have been my H60C that had attracted the photographer... :D
Notice the one large temporary dot marker on one of the high frets; I put it there so I wouldn't miss easily hitting the right fret at the end of "Surf Rider" ;)
Here are some more pics if anyone is interested  http://www.4shared.com/photo/fETRs9iq/_DSC8863.html

Nice pix, Paul! IMHO that Hallmark is still the one that shines among the guitars being played. Was that a Burns in there, too?

Yeah Danny, the photographer was a pro.
Dennis, you saw a Burns indeed. It had a nice sound and it's owner is a well-seasoned player too...that has to be part of the equation too, I guess ;)
Oh, and for my lead parts during our 'act', I played through a Vintage 60s Vox AC30 ...what a blast!

Hey guy's!

Thanks for the pic's of the Hallmarks, that is really nice to see! That is a great pic of Paul with his new 60C!

If anyone is in the London Ontario Canada area, Hallmark will be on display at the Fleetwood Country Cruize-In on the 4th and 5th of June ( this weekend). It would be nice to see any of the forum members who can make it. We will be giving a special Hallmark guitar away for the charity auction on Sat eve as well. There will be a real replica of Mel's Diner and the cast from American Graffiti will be there as well as hundreds of Hot Rods.

Hope to see anyone who can attend!

Great pics, Paul! The Hallmark looks great--love that sunburst. And the Burns Cobra in some of the shots is cool too. In my opinion, the modern Burns company is turning out guitars that are way better than the '60's originals were. A friend of mine has a Burns Legend (a reissue of the old Hank Marvin model) that's a great guitar, and I've got a '90's-style Nu-Sonic--not the '60's-style budget model, but a very high-quality answer to the question, "What would a Tele look like if Jim Burns had designed it?" I ordered it directly from Barry Gibson at Burns in 2003 after the model had been discontinued--he built me that one special--and unless someone else has ordered one since, it's the last British-made Nu-Sonic that Burns produced, although they do have a Far-Eastern-made version with a different pickup setup.
Jim Burns has been described as "the British Leo Fender", but he also could be the British Semie Moseley. Both of them had their own distinctive (some might say "quirky") take on functionality and aesthetics, and even had some design features in common--my Nu-Sonic has a Tele shape with a German carve, and a zero fret with the distinctive Burns scroll headstock.

In our line-up we do some switching, a-la Ventures! :D
I played lead on: Walk- Don't Run, Journey To The Stars, Ginza Lights, Last Date, Surf Rider, Chattanooga Choo-Choo, Last Space Train, Moonshot, In The Mood. (Diamond Head didn't make it due to lack of time).

I switched to rhythm to give friend Rob a chance to do lead on: Old Faithful, Hava Nagila, Farewell To Casablanca, Karelia, Gunfighter Saloon. Due to our time limit he didn't get to play Granada, Just Listen To My Heart and Find Me A Golden Street.
phew!
