One more question. My son really wants the Sunburst finish. However on the Hallmark Guitars website, the finish is not listed. I can talk to Bob Shade and ask him about it, right?

Yes call Bob and Sunburst is a standard option.

Not to worry folks, I can also tell you ...I have a Hallmark 60 Custom Sunburst myself; only, Bob Shade calls it a "THREE TONE BURST" ;)

I have to add something here. After spending some time this afternoon over at Sam Ash I came to the general conclusion that confirmed some of my previous thinking over the years. At this particular place in time, you can get some nice guitars for $1000 but nothing really great. This was my thinking a year ago when I ordered my 60 Custom (from Bob Shade, over the phone). I really liked the looks of the guitar, but I didn't expect to get a truly remarkable guitar for $900. I am here now to tell you that "remarkable" is exactly what I got. I have not replaced any part of the guitar, as I usually do. It came complete with every component just as it should be. Mr. Shade has put in a lot of overtime on this guitar and it shows. And the price should be a warning to the "Big" guys that giving the customer more than he expects is just good business.

Agreed. I played mine last night at the gig and it sounded and played great.

Thanks. However, another question. If I were to order online, like on the Hallmark Guitars Website, would I be missing out on anything rather than ordering over the phone or other methods?

No - you'd still need to order online, even if you talk to Bob. If you want custom appointments, other than maybe gold hardware, you might give him a call and talk to him.

Hi Fishyfish, I was just wondering if you had ordered you Hallmark yet, and what your thoughts are on the guitar.

Sadly, not yet. Something's going on here at work. More workers are getting laid off soon and money's a little tighter now than was before. I'm going to wait a little while to see what's going to happen. I may get laid off soon so I'll need all the money I can save up for now.
