Hay guys, don't know much about the roller bridges, but sounds like a decent fix could br some tefflon tspe, If you shred it it's like fine string, and the plus side to that is it will also act like a lubercant, don't have to wory about the dust. :)

Twango. Everytime I change strings I get the soldering gun out and put a drop of resin core solder on my g,b,and high e string before putting them on the guitar. It really doesn't take much solder and you will never have the unraveling problem again.

Now, is that regular solder like the stuff for soldering wires, or is it some other type? Can I get away with just dabbing a drop on, or is there more to it? I haven't seen the D'addario strings yet, so I don't have an example to follow...

Last night I took a close look at the bridge (C60) while my son operated the vibrato. The bridge sits still. It does not rock. It doesen't really have to. The roller pieces of the bridge offer the only movement necessary to reduce friction at the bridge. Some of the Bigsby vibratoes come with a rocking "tune-a-matic" style bridge but I personally have never encountered a roller bridge that also rocks. What would be the need, if the rollers have already compensated for the movement of the strings across the contact point of the bridge. This also make intonation much more stable during operation of the vibrato.

Don--my experience with the roller bridge on my 60C has been exactly the opposite! Out of the box, the B and G string rollers buzzed--turning them helped briefly, but a couple of good vibrato dips and the buzz was back. I could actually see the bridge rocking, although I had to dip the bar almost to the body to see the movement, so I had my tech glue the rollers. It still stays in tune, and there's no more roller buzz.

for my mosrite bridge saddles, what works best is to tighten the the intonation screw at the same time while holding the acorn nut in place. This usually solves the issue. a piece of paper or even a piece of felt can be placed under the saddle as well, but the down side of that is it will kill tone and sustain.
the hallmarks also have that nice feature of tightening the saddles down with a screw on the underside, and some new mosrite bridges are the same way. but I would think actually 80's version of the mosrite bridge probably worked the best in my opinion.

What's underneath the bridge, supporting it, so it can be adjusted up and down?

Hi Dennis, you're right. The bridge is fixed with bolt and thin nut. Of course the bridge can be ajusted up and down because some spring washer and plastic washer are inserted between bolt and nut. These washers bring some tension and low friction. You can easily adjust the bridge with holding firmly against the bridge post. Please remember the saddles can be also ajusted for octave tuning in spite of fixed with bolts under the bridge. That's the same with it. Talking of saddles, some posters complain of the resonance noise around B and D strings. I recommend some plastic washer made of low friction material between the bridge and tapered washer. I fixed the problem of my H60C with them.
