Ooooooh Yea!
The wait has been worth it. Other than going to Ed Elliott for a custom build, there is nothing else like it. Unique and beautiful. Bravo, Bob.

WOW, had no idea this guitar would get such a tremendous response! Thank you! The goal pricewise is between $1500.00 and $1800.00 including a custom hardshell case. And yes we will be taking special requests like additional pickguard like the Gene Moles etc. We would also like to know what colors would people like to see. We thought 3 tone burst, creamy white, and black. This will be a very limited run and we expect to have them ready in the winter.

All the best, Bob Shade

Hey Bob.
Yea. you've got something really unique with this baby. Colors: 3 tone burst, black and that sort of amber color seen on the Joe Maphis model. Danny posted a picture of an early Mark 1, pre-Ventures, in that color. Maybe he could post it again for reference.
Also, just a suggestion that may not be realistic from a production cost perspective: get that yellow center of the burst and the red portion of the burst looking closer to the Gene Moles guitar DubTrub Danny posted. The brownish burst looks good, but maybe make it a little more "pronounced" with the yellow and red. If it can't be done, no big deal.
Well, I need to go into negotiations with my 'financial advisor" about matters. Winter release--possibly areound the holidays? She may actually go for that.

Well Bob, As for colors I could go on for a while. I'd mostly be after sunbursts of different types. One I think would look good is orange burst but it has to be just the right shade of orange. :)
1966 Ventures II (German Carved, B670.)
1970s "Not a Blues Bender" Bodies: 2.
1976 Brass Rail Deluxe #10.

Bob - I agree that a "True Three Color Sunburst", like the Gene Moles Guitar. It is so hard to get a Vintage Three Color Burst. Even my 1980's and early 1990's Mosrites are a lot different than my 1965 Ventures. I just think to totally capture that Vibe the Three Color will be Icing on the Cake. By the way I'll be using the "Wing-Bat" on a Local Hour Long TV show. It'll air on Oct. 30th and will be a special Halloween Show. It'll be posted on our web page. Thanks for unveiling the 59 on this great forum, Billy Crawford

I'd like to see some of the "surf" colors - Daphne blue, surf green, ocean blue, etc. - even that burgundy mist metallic ...

My opinion...and that's all it is...is that the '59 should be kept to whatever colors the original Maphus came in and save the "surf" colors for then the '60 Custom.

Yep. The original colors: 3 tone 'burst, black, pale amber (for lack of a better description).
BTW. Hallmark will do custom color finishes of the Custom 60. If you want Ocean Blue with white PU covers, they'll do it. There will be an upcharge of course.

Too late - I already have one of the first run 60 Customs - Pearl White. I'm just thinking as to whether they want to market to a bigger audience than the Mosrite purists - the sunburst is great. Black, Natural - kind of boring ... IMHO.
