a nod to the early side jack basses, it's not a dead on Mosrite reissue, it doesn't have to be Bogle's color. I'd be happy to own one in any color (and plan to soon

finally, I don't want Bob to think I'm dissing the '63 Custom bass or criticizing the color choice. It's

Hey, just remembered...speaking of the '59 Custom, what was the reason for the "mistake cover" below the trem?
Bob-your latest run of the '59 Customs are as pictured on your website? Specifically the beautiful bound headstock!

Re: '59 Custom and Bass Updates?
On the bass color........I always liked the sky blue as a bass color and as a young guy saw KMO lp cover, and it appears to be this sky blue color. So this is the color I identify that lp with. Good or bad, I love the sky blue as a bass color, it just looks right. Also I have seen several rare Mosrites in this color.
Yes the 59's are as they appear on the website. The mistake plate was used early on to hide the crude edge of the plate and I heard some of the early models necks were not at the right angle and the tailpiece had to be inlaid into the wood and this helped mask the look of that, hence the "Mistake Plate".
Best, Bob
