Bob Shade wrote:Hey friends! I would like to address firstly the 59 Custom pricing: We are going to start these out at $1500.00 including a hardshell case. I am not attempting to be smart here but real. Anyone who thinks this is expensive, I would highly suggest taking the time to try to make one of these tailpieces alone. My guess is you would think after the fact that you spent 3 to 4 days grinding, drilling, filing, polishing, etc. that you were throwing the guitar in just about free. This is skilled and hard work. We are offerring this guitar mostly just because it is a truly unique thing to do. Just like on the Deke Dickerson models, the profit margin is exceedingly low but we feel we need to keep these in this price range or the average guy will not be able to afford one. So we truly believe this guitar is priced at a real dealeo! See more on this guitar in the next week on the Hallmark website.

Thanks for the tip on the live lp!

Best and thanks for listening and your interest! Bob

Now I understand why Semie was asking thousands of dollars for his guitars before he struck the jackpot with The Ventures... It is hard work... And you compare your price now to what several thousand was really worth in the late 50s and early 60s... Good price!
