Hey there everyone,
I thought I share a couple photos of one of my Vintage "59" Models
This is one of the guitars from my Step-By-Step thread.
I have an original Pre-Ventures Maphis model here at my shop, but it's
a wreck, I studied photos of 4 other original Pre-Ventures Maphis models,
not one guitar was exactly the same, even the mistake plates were all a different
shape.
So I patteren the 2 "59s" I built somewhere between the one I have here at the shop and
Mosrite collecter and Forum member, Bob K's Pre-Ventures Maphis model, I think it's the best
one I've ever seen.
Thanks for taking a look,
Ed Elliott / E.F.Elliott Guitars USA

What a wonderful source of information! I am a hobby-builder of guitars, and by looking at your work, I can see how to take those steps toward improving what I build, and how I go about doing it. I am envious of a lot of your tools! I primarily use a milling machine for all my precision work, and a lot of hand grinding and sanding for the shaping. Finishing is my on-going problem...until I can find space for a mini paint booth, I'm sticking to oiled finishes, but that gets same-same quite quickly.
Thank you so much for undertaking this series of posts!

Ed, that came out really nice, but I bet there are a lot of us wandering just what that "wreck" looks like.EFElliott wrote: ........<I have an original Pre-Ventures Maphis model here at my shop, but it's

Well, there's a lot more where that one came from.

Super, what would be the price range, dare I ask!? And I think I should address you as "Mr. Elliot" judging by the superior work you do! Also, were bound headstocks normal for a '59 model, such as the Hallmark "59?
