Hallmark Centre Stage!

Postby Veenture » Wed May 25, 2011 3:45 pm

I attented the annual "Mike's Guitar Workshop" last Sunday with my H60C for a set of Ventures tunes...and the photographer was clearly attracted to that off-set shape!!
There's also a pic of me playing it. Our bass player sported my Aria Ventures Bass (CAR) to add to the Ventures vibe 8-)

Looks like a good time. Are there any clearer and bigger pictures? Maybe it's just my worn out eyes.

Your eyes are good Danny, the pics are of poor quality but improve when you are able to blow up the page to 150% or so. I'm hoping for better pics on the event-organiser's personal website...and perhaps a soundclip or two as well. We'll see... :?

Man that looks like a great time! The venue looks similar to the Cavern Club where the Beatles used to play. I am stoked to hear that the H60C got noticed. Good stuff!

How do you like the sound?

Bob, for donkey's years now, I've been playing Fenders -Stratocasters mainly and a one-time MIJ Jazzmaster (for that 'P90-ish' sound). I sold the Jazzmaster due to bridge woes and was left yet again with a 'tonal gap' :(

In my search for the Ventures’ Mosrite sound of the mid sixties, I stumbled upon the H60C which has been a bullseye-hit for me ever since owning one in 2009.
Your Hallmark take on the Mosrite Ventures model is truly my "Ventures guitar", customized for better playability -wider neck, yet only slightly narrower than the Strat's - and interference-free pups, amongst other fine features.
I can get so many tonal variations by even rolling back the volume knob. The Hallmark is the perfect addition to my modest guitar family; it has definately filled that 'tonal gap' for me ;)

On my short GAS list is the same guitar that Bob had at NAAM a couple of years ago with the purple flame. That was the most beautiful guitar I've ever seen!
