Mark your calendars, it's GUITAR GEEK FESTIVAL time!

Postby Deke Dickerson » Mon Nov 01, 2010 1:31 am

Hi everybody--

Mark your calendars....this year's GUITAR GEEK FESTIVAL will be happening January 15, 2011, at the Anaheim Plaza Hotel, in Anaheim, CA.

I'm still working on finalizing the lineup and getting the poster ready, but I can tell you this much:

JUNIOR BROWN will be headlining the festival! It's going to be a heckuva show.

Buy tickets now! www.guitargeekfestival.com

More info as it rolls in, but I look forward to seeing many of you there.

Mel, just in case you're wondering, I'm mixing the audio for the 2010 DVD right now, should have copies at the festival. Meshugga turned out great!

You could if you would forfeit one of those Caribbean cruises you go on every six months. :P

Aaaah, I was planning on it but I just bought a gold sparkle Premier double neck so we'll see how the funds go. I might be listing some stuff for sale here soon. Deke, I believe you know the guitar I'm talking about! I'll have to bring it with me if I make it out there.

Hi guys, just want to update you on what else is going on at the Geekfest.

We've got DAVIE ALLAN, King of the Fuzz Guitar, doing a set, though it's doubtful we can talk him into playing a Mosrite Doubleneck.

We have SKIP PITTS, the awesome Memphis cat that played on a bunch of great soul & funk records, and most importantly--he's the guy who played the "THEME FROM SHAFT."

We have JOEL PATERSON & THE MODERN SOUNDS returning from last year (they were the big hit of last year's festival, besides Duane Eddy, of course).

We'll have the ALL-R.C. ALLEN BAND, made up not only of R.C. ALLEN instruments from the 50's to the present, but also including the man himself.

And of course, JUNIOR BROWN and much much more!

Stay tuned....and yeah, El Tuce, you ought to come out! Bring the Premier if you want (congrats) or some of your other wacko gits!

Here's the updated poster as of today! We have been waiting for confirmation that THOM BRESH (Merle Travis' son) will be there, and yes, he's now confirmed! We're also hoping to have some Mosrite basses for the Big Bottom Bass-Off (don't forget to learn the riff from Spinal tap's "Big Bottom"--it's on youtube)! Can your heart stand it? See you there!
