Hey everybody--

here's an early warning for all you Mosrite freaks out there....announcing a three-date mini tour of california in May by none other than the Ventures' NOKIE EDWARDS!

Nokie will be backed by "Venturesmania" (our tribute band/therapy group made up of myself on guitar, Garrett Immel of the Ghastly Ones on guitar, Mel Bergmann of the Phantom Surfers on bass, and Chris "Sugarballs" Sprague on drums). Venturesmania prides itself on paying tribute to the 1965-era Ventures, using original Mosrite instruments and white Fender Showman amps.

In addition, my band Deke Dickerson & the Ecco-Fonics will be opening the shows, as well.

Here are the dates:

Friday, May 21: San Francisco, CA @ The Rickshaw Stop (http://www.rickshawstop.com)
Saturday, May 22: Burbank, CA @ Joe's Great American Bar & Grill (http://www.joesgreatbar.com)
Sunday, May 23: San Diego, CA @ The Casbah (http://www.casbahmusic.com)

Please consider swinging by Binghamton, NY so we can enjoy it too!! Just a few miles out of the way.....would love to see you all.......any chance of recording it so we can all see the show?

Also, great news for fans of the Ventures--we are currently recording a brand new album with Nokie Edwards! This will be the first time Nokie has recorded with "Venturesmania." We are crafting the album to be very much like a 1960's Ventures album, with all new original songs written by myself, Garrett Immel of the Ghastly Ones, Mel Bergman of the Phantom Surfers, and Chris Sprague of the 18 Wheelers/Sprague Brothers. Look for the album to be released in a few months, but in the meantime, don't miss the shows when we plow through California later this month!
