That was killer! Just goes to show that the common ground between the Doors and the Ventures was, of course, the blues. Robbie Krieger was pretty overtly blues-influenced, and Nokie's country-infused rock 'n' roll was pretty bluesy too. Deke sounds great on that tune!
A note on Jordan amps--in the fall of '68, I had just started my freshman year in college, and I joined a band led by a rhythm guitarist who had four of those things. We cobbled two of them together for a PA, he played his guitar through one, and the fourth one was a spare in case one of the others broke down, which they were prone to do. They were awful--the kind of amps that gave solid-state a bad name. I would imagine the Doors couldn't get rid of them fast enough. I think I might have played through one on a gig once when my Fender Bandmaster went down. Horrible--no tone, no sustain, and not even a good clean sound. If Hallmark was associated with Jordan, no wonder they (Hallmark) didn't last very long! My friend said he'd gotten them because he'd seen the Association using them and getting a great sound, but I'll bet the Association had some Fender amps stashed behind the Jordans! Pretty common practice back then--even the Beatles had Fenders hidden behind the Voxes on their last US tour.

Ron Edgar from The Music Machine said the same thing about their Vox Super Beatles they put Fender amps in the Vox Cabinets.
