I am the original owner of a 1965 Ventures Model bass that is in need of a new truss rod. The original rod may have broken some time back in the 60's but the bass has remained playable so I have been putting off replacing the rod (40+ years - do I get a procrastination award? ). I understand that the rod may slide out from the end of the neck so replacing it may not be a huge problem. Is there anyone who can provide a replacement truss rod?
Thanks,
Rick B.

Take the rod out and measure it, then go to Luthiers Mercantile, they should have the right rod for you. The rod should come out fairly easily, if not, let me know, I can help you.

Re: Ventures Bass Needs A New Trussrod
Thanks Bob, I just saw your post. The rod may be broken at the adjuster nut since the nut doesn't seem to be connected. In the past I haven't been able to get the nut out of the hole, but that was years ago and I have more tools available now. I'll let you know if I still have problems.

You should be able to pull the whole rod out for inspection.
