Volume loss on note bend on Mosrite bass.

I was practicing the song Bulldog from the Ventures Live in Japan 1965 and I found that when I bend the G string, there is a very obvious loss of volume. Is this a characteristic of Mosrite basses or is there something wrong with my pickup? I am playing a Fillmore Mosrite Bass.
Thanks!

Has the bass had a set up? Maybe that note is choking out or something?

I set it up myself, the notes sustains well after the bend. I managed to remedy the problem after raising the bass end of the pickup. There is still a bit of volume loss but not as much. Maybe Im too used to modern basses. hahah
Thanks!

I actually think your pickup is probably OK, it's the pickup design itself. I've had similar issues with my Eastwood, swapped the pickup with a custom handmade pickup made to exact Mosrite specs that sounds absolutely perfect, and it does it too. Just one of those things that you have to work around.
The magnetic field must be pretty narrow so when you bend the string it travels out of that field and the volume drops off dramatically.
