The guitar is back from the paint shop. The red paint still need some extra time to harden.
It's not easy to sit still and don't work on the guitar for the next 10 days or so.
But I can't stop watching the contours and thinking about what it will look and sound like when it's ready.

Fitting all the parts will be a task do do very carefully. Soldering the pickup wiring to the switch will also be kinda difficult. That hot soldering tip so close to the beautyful painted body. Scars and marks are quickly made...

When the guitar was away for the paintjob, I made a padouck fretboard with a brass insert. I looks cool and got a special ringing sound when I tap it. It made me curious. It would be so great to use it for my next building project: a bluesbender/brassrail inspired guitar. Not an exact replica because I've never seen one before.

So far so good.

-- Cool color!
The gangster looks so frightening, with his luger in his hand
When he gets home to his children, he's a family man
But when it comes to the nitty-gritty, he can shove in his knife
Yes he really looks quite religious, he's been an outlaw all his life

Thank you. I like the colour too.
Here are some extra pictures of the finished guitar.

It was very interesting and fun to build this guitar. And the good part is: it plays well and sounds great.
I'll do the final setup (straighten the neck, level the frets, etc...) later.
Now it's time to enjoy the guitar and get some inspiration for the next project: A bluesbender/brassrail style guitar

Great job Stefaan! Can't wait to see your Bluesbender style guitar. I have a Bluesbender body I want to assemble and complete...will be very interested to see how yours turns out.
