Mosrite pickups -bridge and neck same rated/wiring?

looked for this answer in past posts and didn't find it....................
Did the early Mosrite Mark 1 style/Joe Maphis style guitars have the same rated pickups in the bridge and neck postition?? Those type are height adjustable by the screws on the ring.
Were they wired the same to the switch/pots, or was the neck wired opposite to the ground than the bridge??
If they were the same rated pickup and wired the same, then why couldn't you use 2 bridge pickups or 2 neck pickups on a 2 pickup guitar? Just wondering why they now are deemed different.
It might be a simple answer and I'm not that smart...so try to be nice..............
